Kristina Baehr

Kristina is a national trial lawyer who represents sick people against the companies that made them sick. She founded Just Well Law to help clients recover financially so that they can rebuild their health and their lives.

Kristina is used to high profile, high stakes litigation. At a national trial firm, she represented plaintiffs in bet-the-company cases like Trilogy against SAP, the Medical University of South Carolina against AstraZeneca, Ericsson against Samsung, and TiVo against Comcast. These cases resulted in over $1 billion in revenue for their clients. For TiVo, she led back-to-back trial teams of more than 20 lawyers to victories before the International Trade Commission, ultimately leading to nine-figure royalties. She was honored by her peers as a Texas Rising Star from 2015-2019.

As an Assistant US Attorney, Kristina then represented the United States in civil actions, including catastrophic personal injury. She defended Army doctors accused of medical malpractice, USPS drivers after catastrophic accidents, the Air Force in premises liability, and the VA and FAA in employment disputes.

After tragedy hit her own family, she returned to the plaintiffs’ side and founded Just Well Law to help other families in crisis. She built the personal injury firm she couldn’t find for her own family. Health and wellness require financial resources, and Kristina is relentless in pursuing the maximum recovery for her clients because she has been there too.

Kristina attended Princeton University and then Yale Law School. Committed to using the law as a tool of empowerment, she has helped people living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda find financial freedom, founded the domestic violence clinic at Yale Law School, and helped the Ministry of Justice of Liberia launch a sex crimes prosecution unit with the Carter Center. She served as a federal clerk for Nancy Gertner in the District of Massachusetts. And she teaches trial lawyers as an instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

Stan M. Putman, Jr.

Stan M. Putman, Jr. is a Senior Partner at Just Well Law and a seasoned trial lawyer. He conducts a statewide practice with an emphasis on personal injury, trucking injury, and traumatic brain injuries. Stan is committed to fiercely representing his clients with passion, empathy, and kindness.

Stan’s accolades are many. He is recognized as a Top 100 National Trial Lawyer, Texas Monthly Super Lawyer (2020-2021), a Top in Texas Lawyer in personal injury law, the Top 100 Registry, and as a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a Life Fellow of the Austin Bar Association.

In the community, Stan shares his time as a volunteer meal manager with Meals on Wheels of Central Texas, and previously served on the Capital Area Drug Resistance Education board of directors as President and Chairman of the Board.

James Baehr

James Baehr is a trial lawyer and Veterans’ advocate who has spent his career fighting for servicemembers and their families. As a Marine Corps Judge Advocate General, Baehr represented over 200 servicemembers in court-martial proceedings, presentencing trials, and administrative boards. After active duty, Baehr served as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Orleans, prosecuting over 100 defendants for felony level violations in the Eastern District of Louisiana. A Major in the Reserves, Baehr deployed to Iraq for Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve in 2018. Thereafter, he served in the White House as a Special Assistant to the President, working as the President’s lead adviser on Veterans’ and servicemember policy, including toxic exposure benefits issues. Today, he fights for servicemembers and their families in courts around the country.

Lyle Hosoda

Lyle S. Hosoda has been licensed and actively litigating cases in the State of Hawaii since 1985. He is the managing partner of Hosoda & Morikone. Mr. Hosoda has represented companies and individuals in complex civil litigation and white collar criminal investigations and enforcement actions. He has served as lead trial counsel in numerous general business, commercial, construction, aviation, employment, contract, copyright, personal injury and real property disputes, and has handled several complex white collar matters with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and other federal and state enforcement agencies.

Mr. Hosoda firmly believes that the key to helping each client achieve their goals is fostering an understanding of each unique situation. He takes pride in the firm’s ability to deliver personalized attention to each client to provide guidance and quality legal advice. While the primary goal is to efficiently resolve a client’s legal matters, Mr. Hosoda and his team of experienced litigators are well versed in and poised to take cases to trial in all courts in the State of Hawaii. He has also been named by Honolulu Magazine as one of the Best Lawyers in Hawaii in several litigation specialties since 2014.

Ben Johanson is a Partner and Director of Client Experience at Just Well. He is dedicated to amplifying survivors' voices in the pursuit of lasting justice.

For seven years, Ben served as the founder of a technological start-up that operated in partnership with the White House's "It's On Us" campaign to reduce sexual assault on college campuses. Prior to that, he was an associate attorney at Porter Hedges LLP, where he focused on public and private offerings of equity, mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance, and general corporate matters.

Ben received his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is also a graduate of Oral Roberts University. He is grateful to be a part of a team that's making a real difference for our clients.

Maggie Neusel

Maggie Neusel is a seasoned trial lawyer passionate about representing people who are hurt by others through no fault of their own. Throughout her career, she has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of clients made ill from toxic environmental exposures.

With over two decades of experience on both sides of the courtroom and inside the boardroom, Maggie is uniquely positioned to analyze a case and develop a winning strategy that best honors her client’s goals. Sure, winning a case feels good, but for Maggie, the greatest satisfaction comes in helping her clients get back on their feet, knowing they feel seen, heard, and believed.

Maggie is a graduate of Lamar University and earned her law degree from The University of Texas School of Law. When she isn’t practicing law, Maggie is active in serving her community. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Austin, has served on the board of the Harbor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to improving the quality of life for the terminally ill, and is a fierce special needs and disability advocate. She feels strongly that children and adults of all abilities are entitled to a life of independence and opportunity.

Amy Hendershot

Amy is a trial litigation paralegal with 30+ years of experience working for national and international law firms, and with nationally recognized attorneys. She has worked with major companies, including Xerox, TiVo, Nokia, Bell Helicopter, and Texas Instruments. She has managed cases brought in U.S. District Courts, State District Courts, U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, U.S. International Trade Commission, and U.S. Patent and Trial Board. Throughout her career, Amy has handled complex litigation matters, managed sizeable trial teams, and attended/assisted at trials and hearings across the country.

Amy has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Central Oklahoma State University and obtained an ABA-accredited Paralegal Certificate in 1988. She is looking forward to using her skills and experience to assist Kristina, and the entire Just Well team, advocate for families who need legal support.

Pamela Durkee

Pam is paralegal and co-founder of Just Well Law, PLC. She has 15 years’ experience in the legal field. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, she has worked with national law firms that represented clients such as Microsoft, Ericsson, WiLAN and TiVo on cases resulting in multi-million-dollar verdicts and over $1 billion in collective royalties.

Pam worked closely with Kristina at McKool Smith before joining her as a co-founder of Just Well Law. After years of big firm life, Pam was ready to make a real difference for those in need.

Casey McCurry

Casey is our Intake Director and Client Advocate. She resides with her husband and three children in Tampa, Florida, where she and her family suffered exposure to toxic mold in Military Housing. It has since been her mission to help others in similar circumstances. She also spends her time advocating for special needs and ADA accommodations.
